Abu Dhabi Book Fair Exempts Exhibitors from Fees for 2023

The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language announced today, Tuesday, the exemption of all exhibitors from rental and participation fees at book fairs and festivals in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the year 2023. The announcement coincided with the launch of the thirty-second edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair yesterday, which features over 1,300 exhibitors from around 85 countries. Ali bin Tamim, the head of the center, stated in a statement that "the exemption for publishing houses, exhibitors, and publishers participating in book fairs and festivals in Abu Dhabi for the third consecutive year forms a fundamental pillar for the development of the publishing sector and creative industries locally, regionally, and globally." This decision applies to the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, the Al Ain Book Fair, and the Al Dhafra Book Festival. The decision was welcomed by the Arab Publishers Union, represented by its president Mohammed Rashad, who emphasized that the exemption from booth rental fees significantly contributes to "relieving the burdens and the difficult economic conditions" faced by publishers.
