UNIFIL Investigates After Border Escalation Between Lebanon and Israel

Deputy Director of the Media Office for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Candice Ardil, announced that UNIFIL has launched an investigation into the rocket launches and airstrikes that occurred yesterday and this morning. Ardil told the National News Agency: "UNIFIL peacekeepers, with the support of the Lebanese Armed Forces, are visiting the sites of rocket launches and impacts to gather evidence and ascertain the facts." She added: "The Head of the UNIFIL Mission and its Force Commander, Major General Aroldo Latharo, continues to communicate with the parties through the liaison and coordination mechanism undertaken by UNIFIL to help reduce tensions along the Blue Line."
