Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to visit Turkey. The Turkish chargé d'affaires in Cairo, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şan, stated, "Our President has sent an invitation to the Egyptian President to visit Turkey," according to the Turkish newspaper "Zaman."
Mutlu Şan added, "I know that Egyptians want to see Erdogan," and continued, "The two leaders will determine the location of the meeting, which will be held in Ankara or Cairo." The Egyptian-Turkish relations have experienced political stagnation in the past ten years, while economic relations have continued.
