A declassified report released on Friday states that "U.S. intelligence agencies concluded there is no direct evidence that the COVID-19 pandemic originated from an incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China." The four-page report indicates that intelligence agencies are still unable to rule out the possibility that the virus could have come from a lab, but they have not been able to identify the source of the outbreak. The agencies noted that "despite extensive work on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, they found no evidence of a specific incident that could have caused the disease outbreak."
