Michel Aoun: European Countries are Working to Keep Syrian Refugees in Lebanon

Former President Michel Aoun pointed out that "there are friendly countries trying to undermine Lebanon, and they do not want to help us with the outcomes of displacement, such as unemployment and rising crime rates." In a speech during a public meeting organized by the "Free Patriotic Movement" in the Juzin area, he stated: "I will not hesitate to name Europe, as the majority of its countries are working to keep Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and the refugees today are security refugees." Aoun added: "We know who caused the entry of refugees into Lebanon, and there were countries behind this matter, and we warned about the seriousness of the issue, but the successive governments at that time were not sufficiently aware." He asked: "Who brought the Syrians to Lebanon and who contributed to their displacement?"
