Tension in Khalde Amid Judicial Rulings

Residents of Arab Khalde blocked the highway in both directions following the issuance of rulings against 36 defendants related to the events in Khalde that occurred in August 2021. A military force arrived at the scene, where vehicles were hit by stones, prompting some soldiers to fire shots into the air. The sentences ranged from death penalty and hard labor to acquittal, after a session in which some detainees were re-questioned.
