The General Directorate of General Security indicated that "it has recently become apparent to the directorate that some citizens resort to illicit methods and pay bribes to anyone in order to obtain a passport. Accordingly, this directorate warns all citizens against resorting to such practices, which may lead to the summoning of those involved, the withdrawal and cancellation of their passports, and their referral along with the participants to the competent judiciary."
