Pakistani police have announced that at least 13 people were killed as a result of two explosions that shook an anti-terrorism office in northwestern Pakistan on Monday. Regional police chief Akhtar Hayat stated that "the cause of the explosions in the northwestern Swat Valley is still unclear." He noted the presence of an old ammunition store in the office and added that the police are investigating whether the explosions were the result of an attack by militants. He pointed out that "most of the dead are police officers."
