Egyptian Forces Leave Mali as UN Mission Winds Down

The United Nations indicated on Wednesday that more than 460 Egyptian soldiers who participated in a ten-year peacekeeping mission in Mali have left the country as the mission begins a withdrawal process expected to be completed by the end of the year. The UN noted that forces from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and Bangladesh, which are among the largest contributing countries to the mission, will depart in the coming days.
