Yesterday, Pakistani authorities announced that "the police issued a warrant for the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to ensure his appearance in court for abuse of office related to selling state gifts, after his supporters tried to prevent officials from entering his home." The Pakistan Election Commission had concluded in October that Khan, a former cricket star turned politician, was guilty of illegally selling gifts from foreign dignitaries. Subsequently, the Federal Investigation Agency charged him before a corruption court, which issued an arrest warrant last week after Khan (70) failed to appear despite repeated summons.
