Lebanese Army Raids Suspects in Baalbek, Injuries Reported

The Directorate of Guidance in the Lebanese Army announced that on Sunday, upon receiving information about vehicles involved in suspicious activities in the Tal Alabied area of Baalbek, a military unit carried out security measures in the region. The unit came under fire from armed individuals, prompting the soldiers to respond to the sources of fire. This exchange resulted in minor injuries to one civilian and two soldiers, who were subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment. The military unit arrested a suspect identified as (A.E.) of Syrian nationality, suspected of participating in the gunfire against the patrol. They found him in possession of an AK-47 assault rifle, a quantity of cannabis, and military ammunition. Additionally, a four-wheel-drive Tahoe vehicle was seized, inside which they discovered: a PKC machine gun, two AK-47 rifles, three RPG shells, and a quantity of military ammunition. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation into the detained suspect was initiated under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.
