Shooting Exchange Between Army and Escaped Prisoner in Nahle Town

The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance announced the pursuit of a Chevrolet Jeep without plates, occupied by the escaped prisoner from Jbeil prison, citizen (M.F.), along with citizen (E.Y.) in Nahle town. The two opened fire at the patrol, and the patrol members returned fire, which resulted in the injury of (M.F.) who was transferred to a local hospital. He is wanted for drug trafficking crimes and for shooting at an army patrol, injuring one military personnel on 1/3/2023. The statement also announced the arrest of (E.Y.) and the seizure of a Kalashnikov assault rifle along with its ammunition and a quantity of cannabis. It added that "the seized items were surrendered, and an investigation has begun with the detainee under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
