The head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Joe Saloum, announced that "since yesterday, companies and warehouses have stopped delivering medicines to pharmacies due to the significant rise in the dollar and the lack of a statement from the Ministry of Health." In a statement, he pointed out that he has always opposed the demand from many for the dollarization of medicines, as he believes that medicine is not a commodity, but a matter of life or death for the patient. He stated that it is humiliating to force citizens or pharmacists to beg for dollars from black market currency exchangers to obtain medicines, but if the delivery of medicines is linked to this, then it must be done as long as there is no other option left to us.
