Inter Milan returned to winning ways today, Sunday, in the Italian Serie A, by defeating their hosts Empoli 3-0, after five local matches without a win. With this victory, Inter moves up to fifth place with 54 points, just one point ahead of their local rival.
Inter struggled to penetrate Empoli's strong defense in a scoreless first half, lacking precision in the attacking third. However, Inter opened the scoring three minutes into the second half when Belgian player Romelu Lukaku exchanged passes with Croatian player Marcelo Brozovic before firing a low shot, scoring his first league goal.
