Removal of the World's Largest Kidney Stone... and Guinness Welcomes It

Sri Lankan military doctors successfully removed the world's largest and heaviest kidney stone from the body of a retired soldier, as announced by the Sri Lankan Army on Wednesday. The army explained that the 62-year-old former non-commissioned officer underwent a kidney stone removal procedure. The stone weighed 801 grams, more than five times the weight of an average-sized male kidney. Its length was 13.37 centimeters, while the average kidney length is between 10 to 12 centimeters. According to "Barrons", the army stated in a release, "The largest and heaviest kidney stone in the world was surgically removed on June 1 at the Colombo Military Hospital."
