Medvedev: We May Be on the Brink of a New World War

Former Russian President and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned on Tuesday that "the world may be on the brink of a new world war," noting that "the chances of a nuclear confrontation are also increasing." Medvedev stated at a press conference in Moscow: "The world is turbulent. Such a new world war can be avoided," pointing out that "the likelihood of a nuclear confrontation is seriously increasing, more than the concerns related to climate change."
