Lisa Marie Presley, the singer and only daughter of rock and roll legend Elvis Presley, passed away yesterday Thursday at the age of 54 after being taken to a hospital in the Los Angeles area. Her mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement, "With a broken heart, I must announce the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us." She added in the statement, "She was the most emotional, strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this tremendous loss," according to Reuters. The celebrity news site "TMZ" reported that Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home in Calabasas, Los Angeles.
