Moscow Warns of the Danger of Western Weapons Supplied to Ukraine on Europe's Skies

Sources in the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that "the arrival of portable air defense systems and anti-tank missiles from the West to Ukraine raises concerns about the safety of civil aviation in Europe and worldwide." The sources indicated to the "Novosti" agency that "the European Union and its member states have supplied Kyiv with military weapons and equipment worth over 12 billion euros. European countries are providing Kyiv with heavy weapons, aircraft, and tanks, and have also agreed to supply another million artillery shells by the end of this year." Russian diplomats believe that "the Western weapons placed in the hands of the Ukrainian authorities are being used to kill civilians in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, including women and children." Commenting on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's statements that EU countries are nearing discussions about sending "peacekeeping forces" to Ukraine, the sources noted that "any talk by the EU about carrying out its own peacekeeping operations is nothing but hypocrisy under the current circumstances, as the EU is making no efforts to reach a political settlement."
