The report quoted Li as saying, "China is ready to work with Russia to make new contributions to maintaining global and regional security and stability." Furthermore, Russian news agency TASS quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu on Sunday.
