What is the Relationship Between the Lebanese Golf Club and the Ghobeiry Municipality?

The Lebanese Golf Club has revealed that since 2016, it has been subjected to a fierce campaign led by the Ghobeiry Municipality. In a statement, the club reminded that this municipality has openly declared on several occasions its true intention to close the Lebanese Golf Club. The mayor of Ghobeiry has expressed this desire at various times, proposing to establish an electrical station in its place, public gardens, or an amusement park. The club added: "There is no doubt that the Ghobeiry Municipality is targeting the Lebanese Golf Club with the sole aim of eliminating it and has found no means to do so except by using its authority arbitrarily, which involves an abuse and exploitation of power. Thus, its method involved applying financial pressure on the club by imposing illegitimate municipal fees, in preparation for issuing administrative decisions for its closure."
