Deputy Ibrahim Kanaan pointed out that "the June 14 session is in the right direction, and it is necessary to overcome formalities and make a breakthrough in the wall, which does not happen amid sharp alignments." Following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi on Tuesday, Kanaan stated, "We continued the consultation that was ongoing with His Beatitude, particularly regarding the upcoming presidential entitlement, and the Patriarch's message is to elect a president yesterday rather than today." He emphasized that "the Patriarch's initiative should receive the support of all Lebanese." Kanaan noted that "the Maarab agreement did not last more than a year, even though it carried a political paper, so any agreement or intersection must be fortified with a roadmap and a rescue project."
