Russia Prevents French and German Patrol Aircraft from Entering Its Airspace

On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense sent a fighter jet to prevent a French and a German patrol aircraft from entering Russian airspace over the Baltic Sea after detecting their flight towards Russia. Russia indicated that one of the aircraft was a German P-3C patrol plane, and the other was a French Atlantic-2 patrol aircraft. The Ministry of Defense stated that after the Russian fighter was deployed and the French and German aircraft returned to their bases, the Russian Su-27 returned to its base, saying: "In order to identify the targets and prevent a breach of Russian state borders, a Su-27 fighter from the Baltic Fleet Air Force was deployed."
