The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, that its forces have seized control of additional territory in Bakhmut as they seek to gain complete control over the city. They added that the forces have taken control of two more residential blocks in the western neighborhoods of Bakhmut, and airborne units are providing reinforcements to the north and south. Russia claims that controlling Bakhmut will allow it to launch further assaults to advance in eastern Ukraine. Recently, the leader of the Wagner private military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, indicated that his forces control 80 percent of Bakhmut.
