The new Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ali Reza Inayi, stated in an interview with Chinese television CGTN that the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia, also known as "Beijing 2," comprehensively addressed the trade relations between the two countries. He anticipated the activation of trade relations in two areas: "state relations and private sector relations." He explained: "Regarding trade relations, plans have been formulated for mutual visits between ministers as well as the establishment of joint committees. The joint statement also highlights the active private sectors in both countries." He concluded: "We commend China's efforts in facilitating the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. China has played a crucial role in this regard. The Gulf region needs a new dialogue within the framework of cooperation and security based on development. It is possible for regional states to work together to enhance their bilateral and multilateral relations. We sincerely appreciate China's role in promoting this rapprochement."
