The High Commission for Planning in Morocco announced today, Tuesday, that the annual inflation rate for consumer prices slowed to 7.1% in May, down from 7.8% in the previous month. Food prices increased by 15.6% compared to the previous year, while inflation for non-food items reached 1.4%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.4%. The core inflation index, which excludes items with fixed prices and highly volatile items, recorded a year-on-year rate of 6.4% and a month-on-month increase of 0.1%.
