Blinken: No Indications That Russia Is Preparing to Use Nuclear Weapons

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken indicated on Friday that the United States will provide an additional $205 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Blinken stated that he "does not see any indications that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons and that the U.S. does not see a need to adjust its nuclear posture." These remarks followed a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier on Friday, saying that his country could "theoretically" use nuclear weapons if there were threats to its territorial integrity or existence, but that it does not need to do so at this time.
