A statement issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office today, Tuesday, announced that visits by Jews and tourists to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem will be prohibited until the end of Ramadan. The Israeli police's incursion into the Al-Aqsa compound last week triggered rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, which were met with Israeli strikes. In previous years, Israel has prohibited Jewish visits to the compound during the last ten days of Ramadan.
