Japan Offers E-Visa for Tourists from Saudi Arabia

The Japanese Embassy in Saudi Arabia has announced that Saudi citizens and residents in the Kingdom can start applying for a tourist visa online (single-entry visa for stays of up to 90 days) from March 27. The embassy clarified that for visas that require a fee (depending on nationality), the applicant or their representative must visit the Japanese Embassy in Riyadh or the Consulate General in Jeddah to pay the visa fee in cash, as electronic payment services are currently unavailable. It advised submitting the application at least 7 days before the intended arrival date in Japan, noting that visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issuance.
