German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced today, Monday, that his country is prepared to deploy a strong military brigade in Lithuania "permanently." He stated to reporters during a visit to Lithuania: "The prerequisite for deploying the military brigade is the necessary infrastructure, including barracks, training grounds, and storage facilities." Germany leads the NATO battlegroup in Lithuania, which is an enhanced battalion consisting of approximately 1,000 soldiers, aimed at strengthening the alliance's eastern flank.
