Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly stated today, Saturday, that African countries intend to continue their efforts to find a solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and that a ceasefire will pave the way for "serious negotiations." He conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting in St. Petersburg that the African effort will persist to achieve their ultimate goal of a genuine desire for peace between the conflicting parties. Madbouly is part of a delegation of African leaders currently visiting Moscow to present proposals aimed at calming the conflict and bringing the parties together for talks. The delegation also includes senior leaders and officials from South Africa, Senegal, Zambia, Uganda, the Republic of Congo, and Comoros.
