After a serious security escalation, an agreement was reached between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip to cease fire at three o'clock early Wednesday morning. This came after the death of Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan sparked cross-border gunfire. Two sources from the Palestinian factions told Reuters that the ceasefire was halted due to mediation efforts from officials in Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations.
It is noted that the Israeli army carried out airstrikes on Gaza late Tuesday, targeting weapon manufacturing sites, military headquarters, gatherings, and a tunnel belonging to Hamas.
