The website "Healthy" warned against making mistakes when cooking eggs, as it can make them unhealthy, while proper cooking makes some of their nutrients easier to digest. The site explained that a large egg contains about 212 milligrams of cholesterol, which is 71% of the recommended daily intake of 300 milligrams. Experts cautioned that when eggs are exposed to high temperatures during cooking, the cholesterol can oxidize, producing compounds known as oxycholesterols. Oxidized cholesterol and oxycholesterols in the blood have been linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Experts recommend that if you are trying to reduce calories, choose boiled or poached eggs, as they do not add any extra calories from fat, making the meal lower in calories than fried, scrambled, or omelet eggs.
