A pilot flying over the city of Venice in the Los Ríos province of Ecuador was surprised when a bird struck the windshield of his aircraft, resulting in the death of the bird and splattering blood on the pilot's face. The footage shows the bird and its large claws hanging over the head of pilot Ariel Valiente, whose face and clothing were stained with blood, yet he remained in control of the aircraft and maintained stability. Valiente reported that he collided with the bird two minutes after taking off in his light aircraft, which was loaded with 400 gallons heading to fumigate a farm.
