Turkey Appoints General Metin Gurak as New Army Chief

A decision published by the office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today, Thursday, stated that "the country's Supreme Military Council has appointed General Metin Gurak as the new Chief of General Staff." Gurak will succeed Yasar Guler, who was appointed by Erdogan as Minister of Defense in the new government in June after taking an oath for a new five-year presidential term.
