The Algerian government radio announced that "Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad will arrive in Algeria today, Saturday, for an official visit." The radio stated that "Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf will receive Mikdad."
Furthermore, the Syrian newspaper "Al-Watan" reported, quoting sources, that "Minister Mikdad will begin today, Saturday, an Arab tour starting in Algeria where he will meet with its senior officials." It noted that "Mikdad will also visit Tunisia for discussions related to enhancing bilateral relations and will continue his Arab tour with a visit to Iraq, where he will attend discussions regarding the developments related to the situation in Syria and the Arab perspectives on Syria's return to the Arab League, in addition to strengthening bilateral relations as key topics in the Foreign Minister's discussions in the capitals of the three Arab countries."
