After the election session, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stated: "Enough of throwing the responsibility ball to this side or that, prolonging the vacuum. Electing a President for the Republic will not be achieved except through consensus and by following the path of dialogue... then dialogue... then dialogue under the roof of the Constitution, which preserves national pact and partnership." He continued, acknowledging that persisting in this behavior and spinning in this vicious circle and adopting a policy of denial will not lead us to the desired results, which the Lebanese, Arab brothers, and friends around the world are looking for. They expect from us a performance and behavior that befits Lebanon, given the challenges and risks it faces. The beginning of this is to expedite the election of a President for the Republic, and this can only be achieved through consensus and through following the path of dialogue... then dialogue... then dialogue. Yes, a dialogue without conditions that does not negate anyone's right to run. He added, a dialogue in which the wills of all intersect around a common vision for how to accomplish this entitlement without exclusion, isolation, challenge, or accusation of treason. A dialogue under the roof of the Constitution that preserves national pact and partnership. He concluded: It is time for everyone to have the courage and bravery for the sake of Lebanon by following this path. Are we capable?
