IAEA Has Not Received Assurances for the Protection of Zaporizhzhia Power Plant

On Tuesday, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, requested Ukraine and Russia to respect five fundamental principles for the protection of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, stating that he has not yet received their approval to protect the facility. Among these principles is the prohibition of using the power plant as a base for heavy weapons such as multiple rocket launchers, artillery systems, ammunition, tanks, or for military personnel who could be used to launch an attack from the plant.
