Journalist Killed While Covering Crime in Florida

A series of shootings in central Florida has resulted in the deaths of three people, including a 9-year-old girl and a journalist, according to police, who stated they have arrested a suspect. The shootings occurred in Orange County, Florida, over several hours. Orange County Sheriff John Mina reported that in the first shooting in the morning, a woman in her twenties was killed when the suspect shot her while they were in the same vehicle together.

As news crews were present to report on the morning murder, the suspect returned to the scene and opened fire on journalists, resulting in one of them dying later. It is alleged that the suspect entered a nearby home and shot a woman and her 9-year-old daughter. The suspect, Keith Melvin Moses (19 years old), has been arrested and charged with murder, with Mina anticipating additional charges from the other shootings as well.

Mina stated that Moses has "a long criminal history, including weapons charges and aggravated battery."
