The city of Aswan in southern Egypt experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 4 on the Richter scale. The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center stated that Egypt was hit by the quake at a depth of one kilometer, at 1:09:03 PM. The National Seismic Network of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research indicated that "the epicenter of the earthquake is located at 24.3863° N latitude and 33.2318° E longitude, with the location being 19 km from Aswan, Egypt, and the main location 47 km northeast of Aswan at a depth of 0.03 kilometers."
