Britain announced today, Friday, a new set of sanctions on Russia, which include measures targeting companies linked to the theft of Ukrainian grain, as well as those involved in shipping Russian energy products. Alongside the United States, Britain is set to unveil sanctions and export restrictions aimed at Russia due to its war against Ukraine during the Group of Seven summit in Japan early next week.
#### Ban on Russian Diamonds
The British government revealed that "Prime Minister Rishi Sunak intends to announce a ban on diamonds and imports of metals from Russia, including copper, aluminum, and nickel."
Britain is placing sanctions on 86 individuals and companies from the Russian military-industrial complex loyal to President Vladimir Putin. Britain continues to work with its partners in the G7 to combat all forms of sanctions evasion.
