The Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, confirmed on Monday that "the defense of the city of Bakhmut is ongoing," noting that "recent days have shown Ukraine's ability to advance and confront Russian forces there." The Ukrainian military media center reported Syrskyi stating: "Our forces' progress along the Bakhmut direction represents the first successful offensive operation in the defense of the city."
He added in a message shared by the center on the "Telegram" app: "The past few days have shown that we can advance and destroy the enemy, even under such difficult conditions. The defense of Bakhmut continues, and all necessary decisions for the defense have been made."
