The Syrian Artists' Guild announced today, Sunday, the passing of artist Mohammad Khurmashu (Abu Hassan in Bab Al-Hara), at the age of 71. Khurmashu's funeral took place this afternoon in the town of Bahloulia, in the countryside of Latakia. The late artist joined the Artists' Guild in 1985 and has numerous dramatic, theatrical, and radio works, most notably: Al-Burkan, Hammam Al-Qishani, Al-Khawali, Akhwat Al-Turab, Bab Al-Hara, and Haret Nasiyha Al-Zaman. He also worked in dubbing for both drama and children's animated films, including the role of Fikri Bey in the Turkish series "Noor."
