Yassine from Bhanas: We Noted Signals Linked to Violations in Quarries

The Minister of Environment in the caretaker government, Nasser Yassine, stated during a working meeting with the Secretary-General of the National Council for Scientific Research, Tamara Zein, in Bhanas, that the discussion was scientific with the center's scientists about monitoring earthquakes and tsunamis. However, the main goal is to review what the monitoring devices recorded as illogical signals over the years. After analysis, it appears that these signals are concentrated and timed with the activities of illegal quarries that devastate the mountains through explosions. He added, "We have filed dozens of lawsuits against the owners of these illegal quarries and requested their closure with red wax." He indicated that "we will send this scientific information to the legal authority to include it in the lawsuit files, and to the Ministry of Interior to implement the closure decisions."
