Tunisian Interior Minister Kamal Fekki announced today, Wednesday, that "901 bodies of drowned immigrants have been recovered off its coasts between January 1 and July 20 of this year." Tunisia is facing record waves of migrants this year and repeated disasters due to the sinking of boats carrying migrants from sub-Saharan Africa as they attempt to reach Italian shores.
