Title: Khalil Extends Deadline for Payment of Dues in Public Administrations

Finance Minister of the caretaker government, Youssef Khalil, has extended the deadline for the payment of dues that became due during the strike of employees in public administrations until May 15, 2023. A memorandum issued by him stated: "Since the regional financial interests in the governorates and the Beirut collection department implemented a complete closure starting from January 17, 2023, until the present date, and given that as a result of this strike, some taxpayers who had previously scheduled their dues were unable to pay these installments on time, causing them significant harm, and since paragraph five of Article 9 of the tax procedures law states, 'If the last day of the deadline falls on a public holiday, including Sunday, the deadline is extended to the first working day thereafter'."
