U.S. President Joe Biden has invited Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol to hold another meeting in Washington during their trilateral meeting in Hiroshima, on the sidelines of the G7 summit today, Sunday. The White House stated in a press release following the meeting that "the leaders discussed ways to advance trilateral cooperation to new horizons," including coordination to address the unlawful nuclear and missile threats from North Korea.
The South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that the meeting addressed a plan for the three countries to exchange information regarding North Korean missile launches. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Kishida and President Yoon met together, marking their third meeting this year, as the two neighboring East Asian countries strive to improve relations in order to confront regional security threats.
