The head of the Turkish High Election Authority, Ahmed Yanar, announced today, Sunday, that Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the presidency in the runoff election, receiving 52.14 percent of the votes, marking the official result of the elections. Yanar stated that after counting 99.43 percent of the ballot boxes, Erdogan's opponent, Kilicdaroglu, received 47.86 percent. He added that with a margin of over two million votes between the two candidates, the remaining uncounted votes will not change the outcome.
