Facebook Blocks Official Page of the Tunisian Trade Union

The official page of the Tunisian General Labor Union was blocked on the social media platform "Facebook" today, and the reasons for this remain unknown so far. An informed source confirmed in a statement to "Mosaic" that the union has contacted Facebook's management to inquire about the reasons for the block. In late December, the labor union, which is the largest labor organization in Tunisia, launched a "National Dialogue" initiative with several components of civil society to address the economic and social crisis the country is experiencing. The initiative includes participation from the National Bar Association, the Forum for Economic and Social Rights, and the Tunisian National Authority for Human Rights (independent).
