Ten people were killed, and 14 others were injured on Sunday due to a horrific traffic accident in the city of Kulob, southern Tajikistan. Umida Yusufi, spokesperson for the Emergency Committee and Civil Defense in Tajikistan, stated that "the injured sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment." The accident occurred on the Dushanbe - Kulob - Khorugh highway, where the truck struck several cars before crashing into houses alongside the road near the "Somoni" market. According to the Tajik Interior Ministry, the truck experienced a brake failure while traveling down a slope.
