The change deputies have initiated a communication movement with parliamentary blocs to promote a Lebanese initiative for the presidential elections, aiming to elect a president who will work towards restoring the state based on conditions specified in the initiative. According to political and parliamentary sources, as reported by "Al-Liwaa", the movement led by the 13 change deputies aims to crystallize an agreement on a single candidate for the presidency who would be supported by Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, Egypt, moderate Arab states, France, and the European Union. Further agreements would later take place with the “resistance” team and the March 8 alliance backed by the Iranian-Syrian axis, or a confrontation could occur in the second half of October.
"An-Nahar" reported that on the path toward "Lebanonizing" the presidential election and "restoring the state," the change deputies commenced their tour yesterday among the parliamentary blocs to secure a consensual ground for electing a new president within the constitutional timeframe, who possesses the required "rescue" characteristics to revive the country. They started the week-long tour with "Tashnaq" and "Kataeb," emphasizing the need to "unify the presidential standards" before delving into names and nominations. Meanwhile, the leader of the "Lebanese Forces," Samir Geagea, warned after a meeting of the "Strong Republic" bloc that "the resistance team will attempt to obstruct the elections in one way or another," reiterating the "responsibility of other parties to agree on a single candidate to face the battle in parliament, or else we face a significant shortcoming during this critical phase."
